Introductory Classes
One Free Swordfighting Lesson
Mention our website and you will receive one free evening or lunch time fencing class. Evening introductory classes take place Monday through Thursday at 7:00 pm and also on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00pm. Lunch time classes take place Monday and Wednesday at noon, and Saturday at 11:30am. Refer to the schedule for details.
All you need is comfortable clothing and a sense of adventure. There's no commitment to sign-up, so come and enjoy some swordplay on us!

Introductory Swordfighting Programs
We provide a few different introductory swordfighting options to get you started in the Academie, regardless of your current athletic ability or knowledge of the Martial Arts.
Taste of the Renaisssance: An Eight-Class Beginner's Course

The beginner's swordfighting program brings students through an introduction to the art of the rapier, sidesword, and longsword. At the end of the 8 beginner classes you will be able to graduate to the first rank of the school and enter the Mastery Program.
Taste of the Renaisssance classes can be taken twice weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays (daytime or evening) or Tuesdays and Thursdays for one month, or Saturdays only for two months. Alternative scheduling options are available - please call us for more details.

Warrior Fundamentals: Introduction to the Knightly Weapons

In this 8-class beginner swordfighting program, students will learn the fundamental skills of the traditional European warrior including wrestling, longsword, sword and shield, spear, and quarterstaff.
As a pre-requisite to the Warrior Program, the Warrior Fundamentals emphasizes the heavier weapons we train with at the Academie and will give you the building blocks for pursuing Western Martial Arts for physical and mental development.
Classes start on the first week of every month; Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm, and Saturdays at 10:00 am.

Introductory Workshop: One Three-Hour Course
The Introductory Workshop is a one day, three-hour introductory workshop to the arts of the rapier, sidesword, and longsword. You will learn posture, movement, attack, and defense with the weapons. This is an ideal way to get a taste of Western Martial Arts in a one-time session. See the Workshop Schedule for the next available classes.

Expert Introduction: 2 Private Lessons + Eight Classes
Start your time at Academie Duello with a leg-up. This package includes 2 one-hour private sessions with one of our experienced instructors before you dive into the Taste the Renaissance or Warrior Fundamentals beginner's classes.
In the Expert Introduction Package, you will learn the basics of posture, attack, defense, movement, and strategy in a one-on-one environment where you can quickly gain comfort and proficiency, then join the school looking like a natural.

Class & Equipment Bundles
Having your own sword and gloves for your first sword-fighting class can make the experience that much more enjoyable, and give you the opportunity to excel even more quickly through practice at home. Take a look at our Gift Packages page for our bundled lesson and equipment packages.
Pursuing Mastery - Ongoing Classes
Once you have completed our beginner's program you will have the opportunity to become a member of the Academie Duello and join our Mastery Program or Warrior Program. Whether you have only one evening a week to spare, or want to fully immerse yourself with a passion, we have a package that is right for you. Monthly packages range from $100 to $200 per month (15% discount for students). Call 604-568-9907 for more details.
Drop-in Punch Cards
If you want to try things out before committing classes to your schedule, or for those with irregular schedules, the punch card allows you all the flexibility you need. The Anytime Punch Card has 8 Classes (Applicable for Noon or Evening). Refill when you need more.
