Knight Camp at Academie Duello

Send your child back in time to gain the training of knighthood in our five-day adventure camp during spring and summer breaks.

Each day of the five day camp is focused around an aspect of knightly training, from martial skills such as the longsword, and sword and shield, to the practice of knightly virtues such as generosity and fairness. Students at Knight Camp will learn history, battlefield skills such as strategy and tactics, and the foundational knowledge that all knights possessed from heraldry to Falconry to medieval games.

Academie Duello provides a safe and engaging environment for boys and girls ages 8–14 years old of any level of physical ability during these spring and summer camps.

Through Academie Duello's Knight Camp, your child will:

Daily Schedule

Mondays through Thursdays run from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm with Fridays going until 4:00 pm. Before and after care are available at an additional charge, see below for more details.

Safety and Control

We place a firm emphasis on safety and learning while keeping students excited and engaged. Your child will first develop control and awareness of their body and the weapons on their own, then engage in drilling and sparring with their peers when they are safe to do so.

Equipment Requirements

Swords and basic protective equipment are provided at the camp. Attendees are required to wear comfortable workout clothing, footwear, and snug fitting leather or cotton gloves. Rigid elbow and knee pads, such as those used for rollerblading, and an athletic cup (jock or jill strap) are also required for both boys and girls. Your child will not be able to participate in the full range of activities without them.

Each child will also be required to bring their own lunch and snacks. It is also important that each child has a waterbottle to stay hydrated.

If your child has any allergies please tell us in advance of the start of camp.

Before and After Care

To make things easier for parents with work and life schedules to contend with, we provide before and after care starting at 8:30am each morning and from 3:30 to 5:00pm each day.

Kids in before and after care are welcome to work on activities provided during the camp, play games, or bring their own activities from home. This will be largely self-directed time with adult supervision but don't worry, they'll have plenty to keep them occupied after each day of camp!
