Cavaliere Program
As of the summer of 2010, Academie Duello, in alliance with Red Colt Equestrian Farm Co-op and Blue Meadow Farms in Richmond, has been offering the one-of-a-kind chance to be swept up in the romantic combination of swordsmanship and horsemanship with one of the few programs of its kind in North America. Students of this program will have the opportunity to:
- Learn riding skills.
- Benefit from Academie Duello’s extensive martial experience, tailored to the techniques of historic mounted combat.
- Learn use of the sword, spear, lance, and bow from horseback.
- Train in squire skills including tacking and untacking, horse care, and ground skills.
Is the Cavaliere Program Right For Me?
The Cavaliere Program will especially appeal to those who:
- Want to experience what combat and tournaments are like as a mounted knight.
- Have had no previous riding experience and have always wanted to learn.
- Have previous riding experience and want to expand it with mounted games and swordplay skills.
