Theatrical Combat
Academie Duello’s Stage & Screen program provides actors, stunt-people and action-film enthusiasts in Vancouver with an engaging and supportive environment to build and develop their skills as stage combatants.
The program combines training with swords, polearms and other weapons with the technical aspects of film and stage production, including acting, choreography and camera work, to foster a thorough understanding of the many dimensions of portrayed violence.
Additionally, students of this program will be able to earn FDC certification. Our three stage combat programs focus specifically on the skills needed for performance and safety on stage and film.

The Stage & Screen Program will especially appeal to those who:
- Are actors and stunt-people, and want to build up a repertoire of safe fighting techniques.
- Are dancers or are involved in other sports, and want to integrate swordplay into their activities.
- Want to learn fight-direction, stunts and script-writing of fight scenes.
- Want to learn martial-arts for performance-oriented activities.
- Want to have a lot of fun working with swords!
