Weekly youth mastery classes — archery, swordplay, and sparring.
Each month, join us for a series of classes on a topic we don’t typically cover in regular mastery classes. Abrazare, polearms, cutting, special principles, and more. Check out this term’s topics:
JULY Mondays — Abrazare: Build your wrestling skills from unarmed to dagger. Apprentice and Scholar skills will be covered.
AUGUST Mondays — English Backsword w/ Master Stephen Hand: Study the English backsword tradition through guards, blows, wards, and tactical principles drawn from English martial sources. This class will build clean cutting mechanics, timing, distance, and practical decision-making while connecting single-sword practice to the broader English martial tradition.
SEPTEMBER Mondays — Abrazare: Build your wrestling skills from unarmed to dagger. Apprentice and Scholar skills will be covered.
This class explores the art of swordplay through solo and partnered forms. Students train structured sequences that develop flow, technical precision, martial expression, and tactical awareness, offering a cooperative path to deepen skill for both sparring and performance.
New students are encouraged to start on the first class of each month, as each month introduces a new focus while continuing to build both solo and partner forms.
July — Learning and Perfecting Forms: Build confidence with the structure, rhythm, and mechanics of solo and partnered forms.
August — Cooperative Violence, Making Safe Hits: Learn how to create convincing martial action with control, trust, and partner safety.
September — Forms from Historical Sources: Explore forms and sequences drawn from historical martial traditions, connecting practice to source material.
Martial Forms is ideal for Apprentices and above who want to strengthen technique, flow, presence, and cooperative martial skill.
