Mille Grazie!

A thousand thanks to everyone who contributed some of their precious long weekend time to our double-barrelled work party on Saturday and Monday!

On Saturday our team augured post holes, and made concrete footings for the post saddles in preparation for Monday's framing team, which measured, sawed, drilled and bolted the bones of the shedrow and began reconstructing fences.  We also had teams of blackberry hackers, additional post-diggers, as well as the junior roofing crew which, between the three of them, tarred every single screw on the barn roof (over 1000 we estimate).

Our Saturday crew: Kristen, Matt, Graeme, Brittany, Danielle, Kirsten, Blake, Roland, Misty, Courtney, Chris, Kate, Eleanor.

Our Sunday crew: Kristen, Matt, Brittany, Kirsten, Blake, Roland, Misty, Courtney, Chris, Kate, Eleanor, Diana, Devon, Rosie, Matheus, Mikayla, Dan, Adam (& Eleanor).

We can't thank you enough -- especially those of you who were out both days!

For those of you feeling jealous not to have been included in the action, we offer a reprise.  This coming Saturday, September 8th, we'll be finishing the beams and cross braces on the last two paddock sections, and putting the fences back together. We're aiming for a 10am start and could use a team of about 6 people to get it done before Riding & Horsemanship starts at 4pm.

Riding & Horsemanship

Riding & Horsemanship will run on Saturdays September 8th & 22nd, from 4 - 7pm.  This is the last Saturday series we will have before reverting to Sundays, so come out and enjoy riding in the evening while the weather lasts.  Assessments will be held on the 22nd for those wanting to sign off before the tournament.

Mounted Combat

The Intro workshop is full this month, but there is still space in the afternoon for the regular Mounted Combat workshop, 1-4pm, Sunday September 9th.

Note: if you're signing up for the Integrated Package you'll be attending both Saturday and Sunday this week, as well as Saturday the 22nd.

Tournament

The Mounted Games Tournament is less than 4 weeks away on September 30th.  We'll get in a couple of practices before then -- tentatively the 14th & 21st.  If you would like additional practice time, please contact me to arrange something.
