A Great Canada Day Weekend of Swordplay and Fun

The last few days have been a whirlwind for Academie Duello. Here are a few things you may have missed!

Vancouver Courier Article
We were in the Vancouver courier last week in an article about Knight Camp and other cool summer camps going on in Vancouver. Be sure to check out their coverage here.

Anime Evolution
We have been long-standing guests and supporters of Anime Evolution, Vancouver's premier Anime convention. We were out in force this past weekend doing demonstrations and running our booth. Thanks to Rach Reid for the photo of our crew in action on the grounds of UBC.

Canada Day Celebrations
We love celebrating Canada day in the most traditional of manners – with swords! We were out at Burnaby Village on Canada Day demonstrating swordplay and teaching about history to all the fine folk who come out to one of Greater Vancouver's neatest attractions. It was hot but we have a great spot, thanks to everyone who made this demo possible! After we packed up our bags we headed downtown to join into the Canada Day Parade! We didn't hit our 100 participant goal but we did darn good with 65 and everyone looked spectacular! Take a look at 1:07:00 in this video from ShawTV to see us in action!

Vancouver 24-Hours
This morning I awoke to see my metal head on the cover of 24 Hours with Matheus Olmedo. This shot was taken at Burnaby Village and the article gives a really nice look into the exciting and fulfilling world of Knight Camp. You can check out the article here.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Canada Day long weekend as much as we did. Happy belated Canada Day everyone!
