Archery - Open Range Begins This Sunday!

"A long bow and a strong bow,
And let the sky grow dark.
The nock to the cord, the shaft to the ear,
And a foreign king for a mark!"
-- Robert E. Howard

Archers grab your kits, bows and arrows and get ready as Academie's Duello Open Range begins this weekend on Sunday January 15th at 3:30pm till 5:30pm.  This is open to Academie Duello students who have already taken our Introduction to Archery Workshop.  If you know someone outside of the Academie who has archery experience they are welcome to come so long as they meet the following requirements:

* Must have proof of experience (letter from Boorman's Archery, a card from Burnaby Butts, Academie Duello archery workshop graduate, etc)
* SCA archers are welcome so long as they can provide proof of experience
* Own bow may be required (24 lb max draw) -- limited lowner bows are available.

The cost for the Open Range is $15.00 per visit.   Space is limited to the first 30 archers.

If you don't qualify to join us at the Open Range this Sunday don't worry!  We have another Beginner Archery Workshop happening on Sunday January 29th.  This 6 hour workshop will give you the fundamentals of archery technique, terminology, history and theory to certify you for the first level of our ongoing archery program which starts on February 5th at 5:30pm.  Students can attend the ongoing archery as part of their monthly packages as it counts as attending a mastery class or a focus class.  If you didn't already have enough reasons to upgrade to Academie Duello's unlimited class package, you have yet another reason to do so now!

“It concerns us to know the purposes we seek in life, for then, like archers aiming at a definite mark, we shall be more likely to attain what we want.”
-- Aristotle
