Armouring and Leather Working Course- Back By Popular Demand!

We are super excited to announce a brand new Leather Working & Armour Course at Academie Duello.  It has been quite awhile since last we ran this on-going workshop.  Instructor and armourer Mark Charke will take you through the steps involved to go from hide-to-finished product in this 6-week course in the art of leather-working.

Students will learn:

  • pattern-making
  • forming and shaping
  • hardening
  • tooling and decoration

Introduce yourself to this art and develop the skills needed to work on any project and customize it to just the way you want.  In this course you will learn and build these skills through the creation of your own leather armour!  For those students thinking of getting into SwordFit Combatives, or looking to build up their protective gear for our Friday Open Floors, this is a wonderful opportunity to create a custom kit all your own.  The skills you learn in this workshop can also translate into making your own leather accessories (like wallets, arm cuffs, etc) for yourself or, as gifts for friends.

Prices for the workshop depend on what you want to make.  Choose from:

  • gorget =  $310.00
  • shoulders =  $350.00
  • arms =  $360.00
  • shoulders and arms =  $435.00
  • torso =  $425.00
  • legs =  $365.00

All basic materials are included in the price. Special requests (dye, etc) can be given to the instructor on the first day of class and be paid for separately.  Register online, by phone at 604-568-9907, or come down and sign-up in person!
