During the holiday break Academie Duello will be opening our doors Monday nights to allow our students to keep their swordplay skills sharp. We shall be offering two workshops that are free for all current Duello students.

BODY MECHANICS

Learn how to apply both power and efficiency to every strike, step, cut, and movement you make. Breaking down and fine tuning and looking into the finer details behind the motions and actions we make day to day as Western Martial Artists.

This workshop will focus on cutting and thrusting weapons and is open to students of all levels.

No matter how long you have been training there is always something new to gain by fine tuning and honing in on the core mechanics behind everything we do.

COMBAT CLINIC

In this workshop students will learn how to spar and make tactical decisions. Through play building, slow work and full speed combat students will get the chance to test themselves and build on their skills as swordfighters.

This workshop is open to students of all levels and from all programs. Come gear up and test yourself while learning more about how we apply the amazing martial skills we practice in combative situations.

Devon Boorman is the Co-Founder and Director of Academie Duello Centre for Swordplay, which has been active in Vancouver, Canada since 2004. Devon’s expertise centres on the Italian swordplay tradition including the arts of the Renaissance Italian rapier, sidesword, and longsword, as well as knife and unarmed techniques.
