Red Cords on the Rooftop at Red Colt

First off a huge thanks to those who stayed after Riding & Horsemanship or came out to volunteer for the work party last Sunday.  Despite weather that rotated through freezing cold, sunshine, and sudden corn snow, much was accomplished.  We got the new shelter up, Michael beat the blackberry jungle into submission, Kirsten, Kat & Tyrell wrangled tarps and floor mats and cleaned up the tack room, and Walker and Roland braved the heights to nail a tarp on the roof of the outdoor stalls.

But not feeling that roofing in the snow was heroic enough, they had to finish their rooftop stint with some quarterstaff and spadone practice:

Congratulations!

Earlier in the day we finished of the current series of Riding & Horsemanship with some assessments.  Congrats to Kat and Kylee who both passed their Horsemanship level 2, and to Kylee who also did a superb job on Riding 2 (on a horse she'd never ridden before, no less).  Well done both of you!

The next series of Riding & Horsemanship starts March 11th, and I'm looking forward to more riders testing by the end of April.
