This summer’s schedule is a tad scattered due to various events, such as plans to re-do the arena footing, and the fact I’ll be away teaching Mounted Combat in Zwiebrucken for part of July. So I thought I’d take a break from instructional blogs to give you what scheduling I can.
Intro to Mounted Combat
There are still a few spaces left in the Intro to Mounted Combat this weekend. Sign up now to get started in the program with lessons in horsemanship, riding and swordplay.
date: Sunday 1 June, 10am – 1pm
Our regular Mounted Combat workshops run the first Sunday of every month and will continue throughout the Summer.
dates: Sundays 1 June, 7 July, 1 – 4pm
Mounted Combat Skills
This on-the-ground session is vital for developing your swordplay, spear and wrestling skills and to sign off your green and blue spur checklists. Sessions take place at Academie Duello on the ground and from the falsemount.
dates: Sundays 15 June, 27 June, 1-4pm
There are just two Cavaliere classes left before we take a break in July. Note that the schedule has changed and classes are now the last two weeks in June. Classes will resume in August. If this is too long a time to spend out of the saddle, remember you can use your package credits for private riding lessons.
dates: Saturdays June 21 & 28th
Mounted Games Practices
These will continue weekly all summer, except for the time during the arena resurfacing in July. Those exceptions will be posted closer to the date. Specatators and ground assistants welcome!
dates: Fridays, 5-7pm
cost: $5 with own horse; $15 with school horse; $25 for non-members
Come out and practice your horsemanship, riding or sword skills at our monthly Open Barn. This is a chance to work on the areas you need to. Riders must have their level 1 riding or equivalent, but those without level 1 can work on grooming, handling and swordplay.
dates: Sunday 8 June, 1-4pm; July tbd
cost: $10 to ride a school horse; for horsemanship or with your own horse, free!
To make up for the lack of Cavaliere Classes in July I will try to add some extra private and group lessons, including cross country session if there is interest. Contact me directly at jennifer (at) academieduello.com to book.
We are hoping to have Robert back for another Horseback Archery session in the summer as well, so stay tuned for more info!
